Many of you will know that on 18 August the Mordialloc Creek underpass was permanently closed (yes, you heard right, permanently closed!) This underpass has served our community since 1890 and is not just part of our history, it’s been a safe, accessible route for families, schoolchildren, seniors, carers, and cyclists. In just four months, we recorded 81,000 users, and more than 2,500 residents have signed a petition calling for its replacement. With the $87.5 million Mordialloc Aquatic Centre opening soon and 400,000 visitors expected annually, this connection is vital for safety, accessibility, and community wellbeing.
